The 21st World Final will be played on three of Turkey’s best golf courses, the two 18-hole championship courses Gloria New Course and Gloria Old Course, representing the largest golf course of Turkey together with the 9-hole Verde Course. The third golf course, which will be played, is Lykia Links.
New Format of Play 2015
A new play format has been introduced which will see three Individual Stableford trophies added to the table. These will be played over the first three days of the tournament, where each golfer will compete for the Gloria Old, Gloria New and Lykia Links Cups. The traditional Individual and Team medal format Championship and Invitational will follow over the three remaining tournament days.
The WAGC was found in 1995 by Sven Tumba, one of the most prominent sports icons throughout time, representing Sweden in ice-hockey, soccer, as well as golf. Tournament Patron Arnold Palmer has been a supporter for over a decade. Annika Sörenstam took over as Hon. Chairman of the Advisory Board after the sad passing of Seve Ballesteros. The WACG was designed to give all amateur golfers the thrill & prestige of representing their nation in a global championship against players of similar skill level. It is now the world's largest amateur golf championship with national championships in over 40 countries. The WAGC World Final is played over 72 holes (like professional PGA tournaments) with handicap adjustments between each round.
