Since 2015, Gabriele Freytag has been working for the Berlin Senate for the Interior and Sport. One of her first tasks was to expedite the strategic realignment of the sports event host city Berlin. With a strategic paper focusing on the impact of events on hand Gabriele is now developing acquisition and funding processes as well as monitoring and evaluation tools for sport events.
Gabriele graduated in Sport and Business Administration at the University of Bayreuth. She started her professional career as a sports marketing consultant, worked as a researcher and acted from 2008 - 2015 as managing director at the Executive Academy of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) in Cologne. In 2015 she assumed responsibility for sports development and marketing in the Sports Metropolis Berlin.
