AIA retains Singapore Premier League title sponsorship

AIA, the pan-Asian insurance company, has extended its title sponsorship of the Singapore Premier League, the country's top-tier soccer competition.
Under the new agreement announced today, AIA will continue to support the SPL through to the 2022 season, with the option to extend for an additional three years.
AIA has been the title sponsor of the SPL, Singapore’s only professional sports league, since 2019.
The insurance firm will also sponsor the league’s player of the month and young player of the month awards during the season, and the player of the year accolade at the end of the campaign.
Both parties will also collaborate on fan engagement and community initiatives over the course of the partnership, with the Football Association of Singapore and AIA exploring opportunities to involve SPL players and leverage AIA’s global ambassadors and sponsorship of English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.
Further initiatives include specific match-viewing events for fans and community soccer clinics for youth players in schools conducted by SPL players, FAS coaching staff and Tottenham coaches.
Additionally, local coaches will have the opportunity to attend coaching education seminars conducted by Tottenham’s global development coaches.
AIA will also continue to collaborate with SPL clubs and players to roll out interactive initiatives to further drive and enhance fan participation.
The 2021 season of Singapore’s top-flight is scheduled to get underway on 13 March.
