World Childhood Foundation Named Official Charity
World Childhood Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to serving the most vulnerable children worldwide. Founded in 1999 by H.M.
Queen Silvia of Sweden, the Foundation’s work is financed through support from the 14 original co-founders, corporate partnerships and donations. Some of the main target groups include street children, institutionalised children, girls and young mothers at risk. Currently World Childhood Foundation supports over 90 projects in 14 countries, and has offices in Sweden, the USA, Germany and Brazil.
“To be associated with such a worthy cause as the World Childhood Foundation is a true pleasure,” said Armas. “It is an excellent opportunity for us to join efforts to improve the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable children including girls and young mothers at risk. The LET will promote the charity wherever possible through various channels over the course of the forthcoming golf season.”
Gunilla von Arbin, Secretary General of Childhood in Sweden, added: “We are very happy to be appointed as the Official Charity to the LET. Through the different LET-tournaments we will have many opportunities to introduce our work for children at risk. The arrangement offers spectators, sponsors and players many opportunities to support projects helping children.”
