World's Major Events Feature on Sportbusiness ISEMS Awards Short-List

Business - 11 Oct 2007

Many of the world’s biggest and best known sports properties are the subject of entries short-listed for the inaugural SportBusiness ISEMS Awards, to be presented at Wembley Stadium, London on October 31.

The nine awards categories, which recognise excellence in areas of sports event management ranging from event look and security to marketing and  host broadcasting, include work on properties including Super Bowl,  FIFA World Cup, World Cup Skiing,  Cricket World Cup, the Tour de France, UEFA Cup and Doha Asian Games.

Short-listed entrants are now being notified as judges get down to the final stages of deliberation before deciding who will receive awards at the presentation dinner hosted by TV presenter Louise Brady and SportBusiness Group Editorial Director Kevin Roberts.

“The breadth and depth of the initial entries reflected the innovation and professionalism of those involved in the many and varied disciplines which contribute to successful sports event management,” said Nigel Rushman, Managing Director of organisers Rushmans.

“Now the judges face an even more difficult task in choosing between the three excellent entries short-listed in each category. Only the judges will know the winners in advance of the Awards Dinner, so it promises to be an exciting and memorable evening.”

The SportBusiness ISEMS Awards are one of the highlights of International Sports Event Management and Security ’07, the exhibition, conference and networking event for event professionals, at Wembley on October 31 and November 1.
