Respective bodies of “H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Creative Sports Award” launch world promotional campaign & sign agreement with International Paralympic Committee
The respective bodies of “H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Creative Sports Award” have extended invitations to International Sports Federations & National Paralympic Committees to participate in the 8th edition of the Award.
The Board of Trustees of the Award has decided that the competition in the corporation creativity category – international level – to be contested by the Association of the Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) & National Paralympic Committees (NPC) from all over the world and specified the principle of integrity & transparency as a factor of competition for this category.
In this respect, a cooperation agreement has been signed between the respective bodies of the Award & International Paralympic Committee, by virtue of which the National Paralympic Committees to be invited to join competition in the international level of the Corporation Creativity Category / an amount of Dhs 500,000) thousand to be allocated for the winner of this vital Category.
The agreement has been signed by H.E. Khalid Ali Bin Zayed, the Secretary General of the Award and H.E. Xavier Gonzalez, the Chief Executive Officer of the International Paralympic Committee.
It is according to the agreement, the International Paralympic Committee to contact with National Paralympic Committees and invite them to contest the 8th edition of “Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Creative Sports Award”. The International Paralympic Committee is also decided to participate in the refereeing work & the selection of winner of this category.
H.E. the Secretary General of the Award conformed the keenness of the Board of Trustees of the Award, chaired by H.E. Mater Al-Tayer, to implement the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council & Patron of the Award, and H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the President of the National Olympic Committee & Chairman of the Award, to extend the range & the role of the international level of the Award through supporting sports & humanitarian initiatives and enhancing the values of fair & transparent competition in order to popularize the original sports principles and establish the humanitarian & developmental role of the same.
The approval of principles of transparency & integrity, as a factor of competition in the 8th edition of the Award, urges all various entities to legislate regulations as per integrity & transparency and to popularize the same among all parties.
H.E. Khalid Bin Zayed stated: “We are keen to contact with the local & Arab sports sector and invite them all to participate in the Award & to contest its various categories. We explain the topics of the competition & mechanisms of submitting the nomination files. We are also keen to contact with athletes & sports entities from all over the world. We are so pleased with the world positive reaction on the Award, as one of the top international sports rewards which deal with creativity in sports work”.
In succession of signing the agreement, H.E. Xavier Gonzalez, expressed thanks & gratitude to “Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Creative Sports Award” which represents a great incentive for the National Paralympic Committees to contest & win the competition of this particular category of the Award.
He remarked: “The wise leadership of UAE sponsors the disabled category and provides them with all means to exercise sports games, attain excellence & gain achievements. We held several visits to UAE and noticed the generous patronage of the wise leadership & the hard efforts of the respective bodies toward disabled athletes and the arrangement of competitive championships for this particular category.
It is worth-mentioning that a meeting was held between the respective bodies of the Award & the International Paralympic Committee, on the sideline of the participation of the delegations of DSC & the Award in the SportAccord Convention, convened at Lausanne City – Switzerland.
The Award’s delegation also attended the meeting of the General Assembly of the Association of the Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF), during which ASOIF’s President congratulated the International Judo Federation for the winning of the award of the 7th edition 2015 of the Award. The meeting also dealt with the importance of the participation of international sports associations in the Award and the eminent role of the Award to motivate sports associations to present distinctive initiatives.
Meetings were also convened with representatives of 14 Summer Olympic International Sports Federations.
