Tennis Europe & La Manga Club renew partnership
Tennis Europe and La Manga Club have announced a two-year renewal of their longstanding partnership arrangement.
Under the terms of the agreement, the award-winning resort in Murcia, south-east Spain will continue to be recognised as an ‘Official Resort Partner’ of the European Tennis Federation until 2018 and will enjoy a range of benefits aimed at creating new business opportunities at the resort, directly servicing it with key groups such as tennis clubs, tournament organisers, and Tennis Europe’s 50 European constituent national tennis federations.
Tennis Europe will continue to arrange international events and conferences at La Manga Club. Current plans include the September 2017 staging of the the Tennis Europe Junior Tour and Pro Tennis Conference at the resort.
Olli Mäenpää, Chief Executive Officer of Tennis Europe, said: “La Manga Club is a long-standing and valued partner of Tennis Europe and has been a key location for many of our important events in recent years. We are delighted to be able to continue this fruitful relationship and look forward to continuing to showcase the world-class facilities of La Manga Club in the future.”
A former host of Spanish Davis and Fed Cup ties, La Manga Club has been the location of the flagship European Senior Club Championship event for the last four years. Several of Tennis Europe’s member nations have gone on to establish training bases at La Manga Club since the two organisations began their cooperation in 2009.
Jose Asenjo, General Manager of La Manga Club, says: “The resort has a rich tennis heritage having hosted some of the world’s leading players and tournaments, and we’re certain that this partnership will add to the prospects of making this resort the best tennis destination of Spain and of all of Europe."
The Tennis Centre at La Manga Club contains an exceptional tennis academy, which is only a small part of all that is on offer at La Manga Cub, which includes the High Performance Centre (HPC), a Spa of 2,000 m² and a fitness centre, in addition to a five-star hotel, four star apartments, 3 18-hole golf courses, 8 football pitches and more than 15 bars and restaurants.
