First broadcast world feed for Pentathlon World Cup Final

Modern pentathlon - 28 Jun 2017

Vilnius in Lithuania was the host city for last weekend's finale of  2017 UIPM Modern Pentathlon World Cup which  provided  the sport's biggest series with another significant milestone - it’s first live television broadcast coverage.

Pro-Active Broadcast produced live coverage for local and live world feed takers for the first time from this annual event as part of their on-going work since being appointed in January to bring the the sport  to a wider global audience via both online and traditional broadcast platforms .

Over the three days of the event, the men's, women's and mixed relay finals were all broadcast to Eurosport, as well as 6 other world feed takers including CCTV China and OSN Sports, Middle East , together totalling 30 hours live or delayed live airtime.

A live stream was also available at the UIPM's own website as well as The Olympic Channel, while regular video updates and news were fed via Facebook and Twitter.

Together , with the post event Highlights programme being distributed this week, the event will reach a record 403 million homes across 163 countries .

Shiny Fang, UIPM Secretary General, said: "The 2017 UIPM World Cup in Vilnius, Lithuania was a landmark moment for Modern Pentathlon as a global audience tuned in to our coverage on TV as well as online.

"It was a real boost for our sport to launch a new partnership with Eurosport as well as having many other continental and national TV networks taking the live feed or broadcasting highlights.

"This was all made possible by UIPM's partnership with Pro-Active Broadcast, who can always be relied upon to deliver a great live product which enables us to promote and grow our sport by connecting with new global audiences."
