IAAF World Championships London 2017: Africa, the world’s biggest athletic field

Athletics - 03 Aug 2017

Once again and more than ever, the African continent will have to demonstrate its true athletic abilities at the 16th edition of the IAAF World Championships organized in London from 4-13 August 2017.

And once again the show will not only be in the stunning Olympic Stadium of the 2012 Olympics Games but also on the African TV channels, thanks to TV Media Sport which holds exclusive free-to-air rights for Sub-Saharan Africa.

As for the last edition in Beijing in 2015, TVMS strived to raise the maximum number of channels by choosing an optimal program (50 hours of live coverage).

“This is the first time in history that African broadcasters will receive live morning and afternoon sessions, says Hédi Hamel, President of TVMS. We chose this time to provide a complete coverage of the event to African broadcasters who become the largest track & field ground in the world. Our choice is not only strategic, it goes with African performances with Kenya ranked nation n°1 and Ethiopia which returns to its historical level. But other countries such as Ivory Coast, Botswana, South Africa, and Nigeria, or even Sudan or Burundi, are likely to achieve remarkable performances.”

TVMS, which has always highlighted its African and World athletics programs, will offer commentaries in English and French, with experienced journalists supported by two eminent consultants, the French champion Jean Galfione and for the English version, the very popular Kenyan Bernard Otieno.

TVMS: an experienced team

With a team of specialists and experts led by Hédi Hamel, TV Media Sport is an international agency dealing with marketing management and events organization in Sub Sahara Africa. TV Media Sport also has a close relationship with international sports institutions and federations, for whom they distribute the best competitions.
