BSkyB Signs New Powerboating Rights Deal

A new broadcast deal will bring the entire 2004 season of Powerboat P1 World Championship to the UK exclusively on Sky Sports. 
 
The agreement with Britain's leading sports broadcaster will see Sky Sports showing dedicated highlights shows from the six Grand Prix plus an end-of-season round up.
 
The first Grand Prix of the 2004 season, which takes place over the weekend of 29-30 May, will be aired on Sky Sports 2 the following week, on 7 June at 6.30pm
 
There will be further chance to see the Grand Prix four times over the next two days and each highlights show will be screened no less than five times.
 
Powerboat P1 World Championship is the world's leading race series on water.  Grand Prix take place throughout Europe and North Africa, with competing teams from UK, France, Italy, Austria and Switzerland.  Teams compete in two categories, Evolution for prototype craft and SuperSport for production boats.  Racing at each Grand Prix takes place over two days; an endurance race on Saturday and a rally race on Sunday.  The 2004 Grand Prix schedule is:
 
Malta:                                 28-30 May
Rome, Italy:                       18-20 June
Brighton, UK:                     24-25 July
Hammamet, Tunisia:        3-5 September
Naples, Italy:                      24-26 September
Spain:                                15-17 October
