Came Group Races with Superbike

Motorcycling - 24 Jun 2009

The Group is sponsoring the FIM Superbike World Championship and famous champion Max Biaggi

Rome, Italy, 24 June 2009 – The Came Group, the leading international automation, active-safety and automated access control company is sponsoring the FIM Superbike World Championship 2009. The Came Group announced its sponsorship of the Superbike World Championship during the presentation of the latest Superbike round in Misano Adriatico, Italy.

Superbike is one of the most electrifying and exciting displays of modern motorcycle racing. The Championship, where high cylinder capacity motorcycles which derive from standard road-going models compete, attracts an extremely high number of fans and is now a major sporting entertainment event.

The decision to sponsor Superbike as a TOP sponsor is part of the development and international promotion strategy of the Group and its brands: year on year the sporting event has seen an increase in interest from the public, in fact in 2008 it reached 1 million spectators across the world.

The Came Group’s strategic decision to participate in one of the most important international motorcycle events is accompanied by the Group’s decision to also sponsor the internationally famous champion Max Biaggi, who will take to the track in Superbike with Aprilia and is currently ranking fifth in the riders’ championship with 126 points.

“We are proud to sponsor an important sporting event such as Superbike 2009 and a champion of exceptional talent such as Max Biaggi”, commented Paolo Menuzzo, President of the Came Group.

“The world of motorcycle racing has always been an example of perfect fusion between sound sporting competition by the riders on the track and high technical competence of the racing teams which assure safety on the circuit. Ensuring safety and teamwork are the guidelines which reflect the spirit of the Came Group.”

“We are delighted to welcome the Came Group onboard as Top Sponsor of the Superbike World Championship”, declared Paolo Flammini, CEO of Infront Motor Sports. “They are one of the world leaders in the automated access control sector and to have them amongst our sponsor portfolio, as well as being a personal sponsor of one of our top riders, Max Biaggi, adds considerable prestige to our championship. Superbike and Came share similar values of safety, innovation and teamwork and we are very proud that they have decided to associate their name with us.”

The Came Group
The Came Group is the leader in the home & building automation sector. Within the market the Group has 13 branches (11 of which are abroad) and more than 350 exclusive distributors throughout the world. Today, the group of companies of which Came is part of, based in Dosson di Casier in the province of Treviso, is one of the recognised leaders in Italy and around the world in the automation sector. Came covers all areas within the automation sector: from single houses to apartment blocks, from large industrial and commercial centres to cities and airports.

For this reason, the Came Group has divided and developed its business into four areas: Came Cancelli Automatici, specialised in the production of access automations and controls; Urbaco, headquartered in France, which manufactures automatic bollards to regulate road traffic; Furini Access Control which provides solutions for the control of pedestrian flows through automatic turnstiles (for stadiums, commercial entities and public places in general) and Jolly Motor, a company from Rovereto (Trento) specialised in the production of tubular automations for rolling shutters, awnings and screens. Came Cancelli Automatici marks its products with the "EN Tested" symbol, recognised throughout Europe, which is based on new electronic systems, new engines and new protection devices in order to obtain full safety, and enables installers to streamline the certification process from both a bureaucratic and technical standpoint.
