Adecco Signs on as Sponsor of 32nd America's Cup

Sailing - 13 Sep 2004

Adecco SA, the worldwide leader in HR Solutions, is pleased to announce that it has become a 'Supporter' and Official HR Solutions Supplier of the 32nd America’s Cup. Building on its earlier role as HR Solutions Provider to the 31st America’s Cup in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2000, Adecco SA will now assist the 32nd America’s Cup with all aspects of Human Resources, through to the final Match in 2007.

A contract signing ceremony between Jerome Caille, CEO of Adecco, and Michel Bonnefous, CEO of the 32nd America’s Cup, will take place on the media boat in Marseille, at 10am on Saturday 11th September.

The 32nd America’s Cup began on 4th September with the Marseille Louis Vuitton Act 1, the opening Act in a four-year programme of events that will culminate in 2007 with the Louis Vuitton Cup and the America’s Cup Match in Valencia, Spain. Adecco will assist in staffing, personnel search and selection, and training for each of the Acts, in a variety of locations around Europe. Adecco’s network of millions of associates, 28,000 employees and around 6,000 offices in 71 territories around the world, makes it ideally suited to the task of assisting the America’s Cup with its unique human resources needs.

Michel Bonnefous CEO of the 32nd America’s Cup said: 'We are very pleased and proud to welcome Adecco, market leader in their field, as a Supporter of the 32nd America’s Cup. As such, the 32nd America’s Cup will greatly benefit from Adecco’s immense expertise in human resources which is an essential element for the success of a project like ours.'

'This sponsorship agreement allows the 32nd America’s Cup to access the expertise of Adecco professionals not only in Valencia, but in the venues for each of the Acts of the 32nd America’s Cup,' said Margrethe van der Stroom Holdener, Business Director of the 32nd America’s Cup.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Jerome Caille, CEO of Adecco SA, said; 'We are delighted to support the rich heritage of this, the oldest trophy in international sport, and believe that its spirit of challenge and pursuit of excellence resonate closely with the values that we at Adecco also value so highly. As the world’s leader in HR solutions we are delighted to be delivering our unparalleled range of flexible staffing and career resources to this inspirational event.'
