Cavaday Signs With Slazenger
Slazenger have signed 18-year-old Naomi Cavaday on a three year agreement to provide her with Slazenger QUAD FLEX™ 270 rackets and a range of tennis equipment.
Cavaday is currently ranked at 190 in the LTA singles rankings, only one position off her career high of 189. In 2007, her achievements include winning the Orange Singles title in California, reaching the semi finals of the Palm Beach tournament in May, and reaching the quarter finals at Felixstowe in July.
Kent-born Cavaday is formerly a pupil at Bromley High School. She then moved to Queenswood School in Hertfordshire at the age of 13 on a tennis scholarship, and is now a part of the LTA's Performance programme based at the new National Tennis Centre in Roehampton, London.
Slazenger’s QUAD FLEX™ technology incorporates four ‘flex zones’ which have been specially constructed from a combination of carbon and a new rubber cell resin. QUAD FLEXTM technology helps to cushion the ball on impact thereby increasing the dwell time. This allows for increased control whilst also reducing the forces transferred on to the arm. The QUAD FLEXTM models are the 305, 290, 270 and the 255.
Delighted with the relationship, Cavaday commented: “I have chosen to play with Slazenger rackets as they suit my game so well. I hope to improve on aspects of my play as I move up the rankings, and from my experience with them so far, I think Slazenger rackets are best placed to help me do that.”
“Naomi is obviously a great talent and proving to be a rising star in the women’s game” said Robin Gibson, Slazenger’s Head of Marketing. “We are pleased that she recognises Slazenger to be the best racket for her requirements, and we are proud to support her as her career develops. This agreement continues Slazenger’s proud tradition of supporting the Best British Tennis Players from Fred Perry to Sue Barker through to Tim Henman”.
