Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee and South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee Sign Agreement on Cooperation
(Kaohsiung) In a meeting in Taipei on April 14, CTOC (Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee) and SASCOC (South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee) signed an agreement on bilateral cooperation and exchange in sports matters. This is the first agreement launched with an African country.
The CTOC President Cai Chenwei delivered a speech and pointed out that both organizations have established very friendly relations for a long time.
Due to the upcoming The World Games this July, CTOC has been actively communicating with NOCs and inviting them to visit the headquarter of the Kaohsiung Organizing Committee.
Throughout the last 30 years, agreements with NOCs from Europe, America, and Asia have been signed. The CTOC-SASCOC agreement is the first of its kind with an African Olympic Committee.
Vice-President Leslie Daniel Williams, who signed the agreement on behalf of the SASCOC, pointed out that also for his country it is the first time to sign this kind of agreement with an Asian Olympic Committee, and that this cooperation will have a strong effect on the sharing of professional knowledge in different sports. Williams also invited the Chinese Taipei delegation to visit South Africa.
