Denmark Prepares for the Upcoming World Championships RS-X-class 2010

Sailing - 03 Mar 2010

In exactly half a year from now, Denmark is staging the World Championships RS-X-class 2010; a prestigious Olympic windsurfing sport. The intention is to give the world’s best windsurfers a fantastic experience.

Tiny society with world class ambitions
The event is being staged in the maritime city of Kerteminde in Denmark and everyone is ready to pamper the surfers with Danish delicious specialities from small local manufacturers. Many cultures are represented at the scheduled ”Caribbean Night”. And basically, everything will be done to make the surfers feel at home in the tiny society of Kerteminde.

Flemming Kold, President of Sail Event Kerteminde, adds: ”Our cozy pedestrian street is attached to the event area and we are able to accommodate almost all surfers in the community. As is preferable”.

RS:X something unique
The many persons involved in the staging of the RS:X event have great experience throughout the years from hosting major international sailing events such as Sail Extreme. However, according to Flemming Kold, the RS:X event is something unique and the biggest event ever in Kerteminde’s sailing event history. This is one of the reasons why the World Championships RS:X-class 2010 staged by Sail Event Kerteminde is appreciated by Sport Event Fyn and Sport Event Denmark, and supported both financially and in terms of consulting services.

Maritime party for all
Not only the world’s best surfers are in for a treat in Denmark. The Danish organisers are planning to use the event as a platform for a great public party involving the entire local community and as many visitors as possible from other regions and nations.

About the RS:X event
The World Championships RS:X-class 2010 is scheduled 28 Aug. – 5 Sep. The event organisers are: Sail Event Kerteminde in close cooperation with the Municipality of Kerteminde, Sport Event Fyn and Sport Event Denmark, and every one of them will do their utmost to give all participants, officials and spectators a fantastic and memorable sailing event experience in Kerteminde
