Each team gaining a straight win will earn three points. If the scores are tied after regular time, ten minutes of sudden death overtime will be played. If after this overtime period the scores remain tied, then a penalty shoot-out will take place. Teams will gain two points for an overtime win, and one point for an overtime loss.

The top two teams from each Division will advance to the semi-final round, which will be played as home and away games on January 4th and January 11th 2000. The four winners of the semi-final round will qualify for the EHL top four final, to be played over the weekend of February 5th/6th 2000.

David Davies, European Director of Ogdens and Manchester Storm, stated. 'I am delighted that Manchester are representing Great Britain in such elite company as HIFK Helsinki, Brynas IF and HC Sparta Praha, and Storm's intention is to go one better than last season and bring further European success into Britain.'

Davies was at the same time as the fixtures were announced, re-appointed onto the Executive Committee of the European Hockey League; a further indication of the enhanced regard Europe has for what is happening in British Ice Hockey.
