Eurosport in Multi-year Deal with American Le Mans

BRASELTON, Ga. (April 4, 2002) -- The American Le Mans Series and Eurosport have signed a multi-year agreement that will continue the relationship between the sports car endurance racing series and the most-distributed television channel in Europe.

American Le Mans Series racing will lead Eurosport's three-hour 'American Zone' motorsports programming on 10 Sunday nights as part of Eurosport's Super Racing Weekends. The 10 rounds of the ALMS will be presented in a one-hour highlights format beginning at 20:00 (Central European Time).

NASCAR and Indy Racing League action will follow the ALMS broadcasts on the Sunday nights, which will be one week after ALMS events. American Le Mans Series racing has appeared on Eurosport since the formation of the series in 1999.

Eurosport was the first Pan-European television service and is distributed in 54 countries. A viewing audience of more than 200 million is generated from more than 93 million households. The largest countries of penetration include Germany, the United Kingdom, France, The Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Poland and Romania. Eurosport is available in 18 commentary languages.

The 2002 American Le Mans Series schedule on Eurosport:
March 24 -- Sebring, 20:00 CET.
May 26 -- Sears Point, 20:00 CET.
July 7 -- Mid-Ohio, 20:00 CET.
July 14 -- Road America, 20:00 CET.
July 28 -- Washington, 20:00 CET.
August 11 -- Trois-Rivieres, 20:00 CET.
August 25 -- Mosport, 20:00 CET.
September 29 -- Laguna Seca, 20:00 CET.
October 14 -- Miami, 22:00 CET. *
October 21 -- Road Atlanta, 20:00 CET.
Miami event to air two hours later than normal time.
