FAI President and FAI President of Honour Cut the Ribbon of the New FAI Headquarters
The new FAI Headquarters were officially opened last Friday night as FAI President Dr. John Grubbström and FAI Honorary President Pierre Portmann cut the ribbon at the entrance of the new offices.
This inauguration took place during a long working week-end at the FAI Headquarters, which allowed to welcome a number of FAI Officials like FAI Commission Presidents, delegates from ICARE and members of the Statutes Working Group. We also had the pleasure to welcome the former FAI Secretary General Max Bishop - who worked closely with FAI Honorary President Pierre Portmann on this project.
As FAI President Dr. John Grubbström pointed out in his opening statement, the inauguration celebrated the beginning of a new era for the FAI which has ensured a bright future through the acquisition of this valuable asset. It also provides the FAI with a modern working environment for the FAI staff and settles the FAI at the Maison du Sport International (MSI), the “Home of International Sport".
The MSI hosts more than twenty international sports federations and organisations, which will allow the FAI to better interact with other sports federations and to benefit from this cross-sharing plateform.
The new FAI Headquarters are located at Maison du Sport International, Av. de Rhodanie 54, 1007 Lausanne, Switzerland.
