Falun is ready for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships
Five years ago, at the 47th International Ski Congress in Antalya (TUR), Falun was elected to host the FIS Nordic World Championships in 2015. Now, Falun is ready.
Opening Ceremony
The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships will be officially opened on Wednesday, 18th February. Earlier last autumn, the Dalarna band Mando Diao released the official World Championships song, Love Last Forever. The band will perform it at the Opening Ceremony.
“We are thrilled that Mando Diao will play the official song live at the Opening Ceremony, which will be the first time it is performed at an outdoor venue. In addition, our programme features many excellent artists, and most of them come from Dalarna. Kalle Moraeus and Miss Li are two of those who will entertain us at the Opening Ceremony, “explains Sven von Holst.
Besides the musical programme, there will be a parade of participating nations and the official declaration by Gian Franco Kasper, President of the International Ski Federation, to open the Championships. The ceremony will conclude with fireworks.

Fans will be able to participate in the Cross-Country competitions during the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun through their favourite skier's point of view and follow the races live in the unique 3D environment. Fans can also select the Live TV camera of their choice from the cross-country tracks and ski jumping hill.
