Fast Track Appointed by British Basketball

Basketball - 21 Feb 2008

British Basketball has appointed Fast Track, the UK’s leading sports sponsorship, consulting, events, communications and rights marketing agency, to deliver its EuroBasket games, commercial, PR and media relations for the next three years.

Fast Track, nominated as Agency of the Year in the upcoming Sports Industry Awards, won a competitive pitch based around their proven track record for delivery of world-class events and innovative PR plus a strong commercial proposition.

With both the GB men’s and women’s teams achieving promotion into EuroBasket A, British Basketball remains firmly on course to achieve its ultimate goal of London 2012 Olympic qualification and Fast Track is delighted to have the opportunity to assist in building a strong future for the sport.

Simon Tuckey, Commercial Director of British Basketball, said: “I was delighted with the quality of response to British Basketball’s tender for commercial services and am now really looking forward to working with Fast Track to find brand partners who can gain from an association with our internationally successful, exciting and attractive sport.”

Ron Wuotila, Performance Manager of British Basketball, added: “The next two-year cycle for British Basketball presents exciting challenges for our teams and knowing we have a quality organisation on board to handle our commercial business allows the coaches and staff to focus on performance.

“Fast Track has a proven track record of delivering first class results for their clients and I have complete confidence that our relationship will bring great rewards.”

Jon Ridgeon, Managing Director at Fast Track, commented: “Fast Track believe that basketball has the opportunity to further develop into a major sport in the UK and we are delighted to be working with British Basketball to deliver tremendous results.”
