FIBA will announce its new World Basketball Calendar during SPORTEL on Monday 12 October from 11:45 to 12:15

FIBA’S NEW WORLD BASKETBALL CALENDAR

Monday 12 October – 11:45 – 12:15

In 2017, FIBA will launch a brand new FIBA World Basketball Calendar for national teams.

Around the globe and in 4 Continents (Africa, Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe) an estimated 140 National teams will play regular home and away games. These games will qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup, which will take place in 2019 in China. “The Road to the World Cup” will consist of more than 1,400 games.

This new FIBA Calendar will provide unique opportunities for the sport of Basketball as well as for media outlets worldwide. With the sale of media rights starting early next year, FIBA is now in a position to present more detailed information on the new FIBA Calendar together with the exciting unique global broadcast opportunities.
