FIH Executive Board - Meeting Notes
The FIH Executive Board held its first meeting for 2006 in Lausanne, Switzerland, last weekend, with the meeting coinciding with the first anniversary of the opening of the new FIH Office.
The following were the major outcomes from the meeting:
· Congress: The 40th FIH Statutory Congress and meetings will be held in London at Lords Cricket Ground from 5-12 November 2006
· Rules: Using the edge of the stick on the forehand, with the face of the stick upwards, to hit the ball (hitting the ball using the “low forehand”) is prohibited with immediate effect
· Events: Changes made to the quotas for the Junior World Cups in 2009. Oceania Hockey Federation was awarded an additional place in the men’s and women’s competitions
· Events: Changes to the classification matches for positions 9-12 at the Olympic Games
· Marketing: An increase in the sponsor advertising allowed on national teams’ uniforms
· Equipment: Approval to establish a list of high quality pitch suppliers/installers
