First Dedicated Airsports TV Series Takes Off
Developed by Flying Aces and production partner, Pro-Active Television, “AirSports World” will be a 13-part series, showcasing the FAI’s major international championships in each air sport in 2007. Sports categories covered will include aerobatics, skydiving, hot air ballooning, gliding, aeromodelling, hang gliding, para-skiing, paramotor flying and air racing.
The 13 programmes – which are to be broadcast worldwide from late summer 2007 – will also feature special reports on world record attempts, air sports athletes, personalities and lifestyles; as well as rounding up the latest air sports news. This is the first time such a comprehensive and ambitious television project has been undertaken.
FAI Secretary General Max Bishop commented: “Air sports have much to offer to TV audiences - everyone dreams of flying. Our international championships are challenging, diverse, inspiring and most of all, highly competitive. We are pleased that the public will now be able to see them on television.”
According to Flying Aces Managing Sirector, Jeff Zaltman, “air sports is the final frontier in sport and we are pioneering the commercialisation of this industry. Air sports will be a mainstream segment on TV very soon.”
Flying Aces has opened the door to submissions from enthusiasts and event organisers to contribute footage and stories on various air sports events and newsworthy happenings around the world.
