Archery World Cup Returns in Santo Domingo!
Lausanne - 26 March 2009 The 4th edition of the Archery World Cup starts next week and Stage 1 features the beautiful city of Santo Domingo (DOM) as in 2008. One could have thought some glorious archers would enjoy retirement after the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. On the contrary, the stars are back and ready to battle again! Will they survive against the young generation?
This year’s Archery World Cup comprises four stages that allow the athletes to qualify for the Final in Copenhagen. The World Cup aims to consistently enhance its competitions by showcasing the events at some of the world’s most spectacular locations. The archers will go from Santo Domingo, to the beaches of Porec and Antalya, the modern down-town Shanghai and the historic canal in Copenhagen.
Only the top four archers per category will make it to the Danish capital, where archery will be part of the “Danish Year of Sport 2009”. Denmark will host more than 50 international sports events and the Archery World Cup Final will take place just before the Olympic Session and Congress.
Who will enjoy the trip to the Copenhagen Final?
