Host Broadcast Innovator Tellier to Speak at ISEMS '07

Business - 26 Sep 2007

Francis Tellier, the man behind the increasingly complex broadcast operations that take the FIFA World Cup to a global audience, is to examine the evolving role of host broadcasters and the challenges they face when he addresses the International Sports Event Management and Security (ISEMS) conference at Wembley Stadium, London, on October 31.

Francis Tellier is head of Host Broadcast Services, a unit of Infront Group, which has provided host broadcast services for a series of major events including – in partnership with IMG Media – the landmark 2006 Asian Games in Doha, Qatar.

The quality of broadcast delivery is essential to the success of any sports event and the premium is enhanced at major events where global perceptions of the host city or nation can be shaped by the broadcast coverage.

Francis Tellier joins a line-up of uniquely qualified and experienced speakers which includes Kit McConnell, head of Rugby World Cup at the IRB,   Glenn Bourke, CEO of the Volvo Ocean Race, and a host of experts in the wide-ranging disciplines which comprise the event management process.

Nigel Rushman, Managing Director of organisers Rushmans said: “We are delighted that Francis Tellier is to join us at ISEMS.  He is a hugely experienced and respected figure who brings to the conference unique insights into the role of host broadcasters – a role which he has done much to shape over the years.”

International Sports Event Management and Security is a two-day conference, exhibition and networking event designed to provide a forum and showcase for the multi-billion dollar sports events industry.

It offers conference streams focusing on Event Management, Media, Marketing and Security where speakers drawn from many parts of the world will deliver insights into planning, problem solving and best practice.

ISEMS has been developed for, and will be attended by, representatives of national and international sports governing bodies, specialist event management companies, local authorities, stadium and facility owners and operators, media companies, sports marketing agencies, police and intelligence services and the companies which provide the technology, infrastructure and services which make events tick.

The event promises innovation at every level. THE SPORTBUSINESS ISEMS AWARDS CEREMONY, on the evening of October 31, will form the social and networking highlight of the event and provide an opportunity for the industry to formally recognise excellence in planning and delivery across the myriad specialist disciplines involved in delivering a major sports event.
