IEC in Sports to Represent Badminton's China Open

IEC in Sports has signed the IBF World Grand Prix event China Open, to be held in Guangzhou between the 17th and 22nd of December, 2002.

By signing the event, IEC in Sports now represent six World Grand Prix events in Asia, including Thai, Singapore, Korea, Japan and Chinese Taipei Open.

'The Asian tournaments have grown in strength the past years and hence our focus in the region,' says Jonas Persson, CEO of IEC in Sports.

In Europe IEC work only with Dutch Open after the close down of Swedish Open and the downgrade of German Open to only one star.

'We are very proud to be able to offer TV-stations an increasingly stronger badminton package,' says Jonas Persson.

'The interest for badminton is increasing especially in Asia where traditionally the best players are from.'

The China Open is ranked among the best tournaments in the world and always attracts the best players, including the Olympic and World Champions.
