India International Sports Summit Ties up with ASIA SPORTS 2009
~ Partnership intended to boost sports in Asia ~
Mumbai, November 2, 2009: TransStadia, a company championing the cause of sports development and sports promotion in India, which recently launched its first initiative ‘India International Sports Summit’ has now tied up with ASIA SPORTS 2009, the pan-Asian platform dedicated to the growth of the sports business in the region. ASIA SPORTS 2009 is the brainchild of Singapore-based independent sports marketing agency Wharf House, and is being supported by the Olympic Council of Malaysia and the Olympic Council of Asia.
The India International Sports Summit as well as ASIA SPORTS 2009 both share a common aim which is to provide a platform for leading personalities from Asia and across the world to discuss, debate and identify the need-gap of the sporting eco-system and the plausible solutions towards making Asia a leader in the world of sports.
The theme of India International Sports Summit 2010 which will be held on 24th and 25th March 2010 in Mumbai will be “India, Get Set, Go!!”. The summit will focus on various areas of sports such as ‘Sporting Infrastructure development, grassroots initiatives in development of sports’, ‘hosting world-class sporting events’, ‘building a career in sports’, ‘taking sports to the deepest corners of India’, along with others issues which the summit intends to touch upon during the two days of deliberations. The Summit will also cover an array of topics such as the sports and its role in building the youth, contribution of sports to the GDP, careers in sports and creating an iconic infrastructure in sports highlighting best practices from around the world.
Many leaders from the world of sports, federations, business, media, entertainment and government have already shown their support towards this initiative. These include acclaimed Olympian Bronze medal winner and Indian boxing champion Vijender Singh; India's No. 1 squash player Ritwik Bhattacharya; Olympic Gold Medal winner, British heptathlete and javelin thrower Tessa Sanderson.
