International Skating Union Cancels US Event
The International Skating Union (ISU) and the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA) regret to notify that the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating event will not take place in Phoenix (Scottsdale), USA on September 20-23 2001, as scheduled.
This joint decision between the ISU and the USFSA was made as a result of the recent tragic circumstances that have occurred in the United States and the critical organizational situation this has created, including uncertainties with regard to air travel schedules.
The USFSA has also released a communication about this decision.
The possibility of rescheduling this event either in Scottsdale or another location is under consideration. Further notification will be provided on the matter as soon as a decision is made.
The remainder of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating events will, however, be held as scheduled.
