ISU Ruling: 2000 World Synchronized Skating Championships, Minneapolis, USA, April 5-8

I. 2000 World Synchronized Skating Championships, Minneapolis, USA, April 5-8, 2000 Teams Names Teams participating in the 2000 World Synchronized Skating Championships are reminded that in accordance with the message from the General Secretary, dated December 6th 1999, team names are not to be used. The names to be officially used are the names of the country (or abbreviation when applicable) the team represents or in the case of two entries, the name of the country followed by the number one (1) and two (2). The use of team banners with team names on them will not be allowed at the ice level at the opening ceremony, during official practices, the competition or the awards ceremony. Travel Contribution to Teams participating at the Championships The travel contributions to the participating teams will be announced and paid through their Member Federations after the Championships (the exact amount depends on the number of final entries). The ISU Members of teams receiving the travel contribution are requested to transfer the money to teams whole, without any retaining fee, as it is not prize money but a contribution towards travel. More detailed information will be given out from the ISU Secretariat in Lausanne. Judges travel arrangements and reimbursement All nominated Judges may make their travel arrangements through the ISU Secretariat in Lausanne or through their own Federations. The air tickets must be of economy/APEX class. If Judges arrange the flight tickets through their own Member, the expenses will be reimbursed by the ISU (not the organizers) after the Championships. II. Coaches' Seminar - Doping and Nutrition, Minneapolis, USA, April 5, 2000 A Seminar on Doping and Nutrition will be arranged in conjunction with the 2000 World Synchronized Skating Championships. This Seminar will be free of charge. Time: Wednesday, April 5, 2000 from 20.00 (8 p.m.) to 23.00 (11 p.m.) Venue: Marriott Hotel, Minneapolis, USA A maximum of two (2) participants per team will be accepted. The names of the participants must be announced at the time of registration at the official Registration Desk at the Marriott Hotel. III. Trial Judging at 2000 World Synchronized Skating Championships Trial Judging will be conducted at the 2000 World Synchronized Skating Championships for those Judges who were nominated but not drawn to the panel of Judges. Besides those Judges, each participating ISU Member is allowed to send one (1) person from the ISU List of Judges and Referees for Synchronized Skating Championships or one (1) Judge/Referee for Synchronized Skating International Competitions who will fulfill the requirements for the SyS Championships Judge appointment for the season 2000 - 2001, at the time of application. Members wishing to nominate a Judge/Referee for Trial Judging according to the criteria mentioned above, may make an application to the ISU Secretariat with a copy to the Chairperson of the Synchronized Skating Technical Committee. The ISU will also pay accommodation expenses (hotel room only) in the official hotel Marriott from Thursday, April 6 until Saturday April 8, 2000 for all approved Trial Judges. Expenses and contributions will only be paid by the ISU on the condition that the participants are in attendance during the whole duration of the Trial Judging. The travel contribution will be made from the ISU Secretariat to the ISU Member concerned after the Trial Judging has been completed. IV. Educational Video for Coaches and Judges A newly produced Educational Video for Coaches and Judges (Technical Video) is now available from the ISU Office and may be ordered at the price of 50 CHF plus postage. The video contains a teaching part and a judging part that is very suitable for self-studies as well as for educational purposes during Synchronized Skating seminars. V. Application forms for Judges / Referees nominations All ISU Members are reminded to use the most recent and the official ISU Synchronized Skating Forms which were sent from the ISU Secretariat in Lausanne with Communication No. 1052 (for appointments as well as for re-nominations of Judges and Referees). All nominations must have reached the ISU Secretariat at the latest on April 15,2000. Judges' and Referees' Documents ISU Members are also reminded that according to Rules 807 paragraph 11 and 818 paragraph 11, for national activities required for the first appointment to Judge / respective promotion to Referee International Synchronized Skating Competitions, the Member must submit the respective documents such as a classification list of the events judged / refereed with the applications.
