ITF Launches Tennis Anti-Doping Programme Website

Tennis - 04 Jan 2006

The ITF has launched a dedicated ITF Tennis Anti-Doping Programme website. The new site, which expands the ITF’s online family of sites under the ITFtennis.com portal, is available at www.itftennis.com/antidoping.

From the start of 2006, the ITF is responsible for the management of the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme at all men’s professional events, including ATP-sanctioned tournaments. The ITF will continue to manage the Programme at the Grand Slam events (men and women), Davis Cup and Fed Cup, ITF Men’s and Women’s Circuit tournaments, and at Junior and Wheelchair tennis events under its authority.

The new website will be the leading source of information on all aspects of the Programme, including tribunal decisions, statistics, advisories and rules relating to the ITF Tennis Anti-Doping Programme. Documents and forms, such as the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme Wallet Card and Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) forms, are available to download.

The site is intended to be a transparent and user-friendly resource for players, media and fans. Visitors are invited to sign up for the ITF Tennis Anti-Doping Programme newsletter, which will communicate advisories, announcements and rule changes. The site is also offered as an educational resource, with information on banned substances and their dangers, nutritional advice and injury prevention tips. The site will expand to include the introduction of an FAQ section.

Information on the WTA’s management of the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme at its own events will continue to be available at http://www.wtatour.com/.
