Asian Tour Launches New-Look Website

Golf - 22 Jan 2007

Kuala Lumpur, January 20: The Asian Tour today launched its new-look website, http://www.asiantour.com/, in keeping with its vision and theme "Changing the Face of Golf".

The revamped website will feature all the latest news, results, official announcements, player biographies, photo gallery and interesting statistics, including the UBS Order of Merit, and these will be easily accessible and viewed with just a few clicks of the mouse.

This season, the Asian Tour will stage a minimum of 29 tournaments with an all-time high of US$26 million in total prize money and with the growing interests of the game in Asia and across the world, http://www.asiantour.com/ will be an important tool in reaching out to golf fans and the media alike.

In the near future, there will be more "byte" on the website with the introduction of audio and video streaming which will allow golf fans to enjoy a greater Asian Tour experience.

Amongst the main features of the website include Live Scoring from tournaments where scores are updated by the minute. Scorecards and statistics are accessible as well for fans, followed by comprehensive tournament reports.

Asian Tour Executive Chairman Kyi Hla Han said: "The world has become a lot smaller today thanks to the IT Age. With our newly revamped website which has maintained a 'clean' look and is truly user-friendly, we believe that golf fans from anywhere around the world will have the opportunity to follow the action closely via http://www.asiantour.com/.

"The website is the official communication tool for the Asian Tour and is an integral part of the Tour's development and growth. It is our aim to create a website which provides all the news and views from the Asian Tour."

Apart from tournament news, the website will also carry regular features with the Asian Tour players and follow the progress of Asian stars who are playing on the international circuits.

A new series, "Know Your Graduate", will introduce all the recent successful qualifiers from the Asian Tour Qualifying School while other attractions in the future will include a "Head to Head" column.

Other important details such as sponsorship support, corporate benefits and the list of Asian Tour Partners are also included on the website to recognise the important roles that they play in the growth of the game in Asia.
