Kyocera Mita Becomes Official Sponsor of Torino 2006
(12/10/2004) – Kyocera Mita Italia is an Official Sponsor of Torino 2006 for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, for which it will provide the TOROC with document management services: the printing and reproduction of over 6 million pages including all the reports, results and standings that will be produced during the Olympic Games.
Kyocera Mita, thanks to its Ecosys proprietary technology, will enable documents to be duplicated with low operating costs and with high ecological compatibility in terms of the materials and the components used.Kyocera Mita Italia is part of the Kyocera Corporation, an international group worth over 7.5 billion euro, with headquarters in Japan and branches in 160 countries.
It will supply the TOROC with fax equipment, printers, photocopiers and high performance multifunction systems, along with toner, cartridges, and other consumption materials. It will also make available a technical team who will guarantee assistance and support 24 hours a day to the over 10,000 accredited journalists, 2,500 technicians and escorts of the national teams, the 2,300 IOC and National Federation representatives and the 650 judges and referees.
'The output and handling of documents and paperwork during the Olympic Games – said the CEO of the TOROC Paolo Rota - is a complex matter that calls for a reliable sponsor: this is fundamental to guarantee the efficient treatment of the massive document flow that needs to be printed, reproduced and delivered in the shortest possible time. Over 6 million pages are expected to be produced during the Olympic Games and a total of 30 million pages from today until 2006. The long experience of Kyocera Mita Italia is a guarantee'.
'It is a very demanding sponsorship – underlined the president and CEO of Kyocera Mita Italia Luigi Marangoni - which, however, we are looking forward to with enthusiasm. First of all because we feel it an honour for us to be able to support the Olympic Winter Games, that are coming back to Italy after 50 years, and the Winter Paralympics, that are being held here for the first time ever. And then because, by company traditional and culture common to all the activities of Kyocera Mita around the world, we feel especially in harmony with the values and with the spirit of these events: the keenness for challenges, the tenacity in striving for the objectives, the satisfaction of a top quality performance, and last but not least, consideration of the environment that is a characteristic of the entire organisation of these Games'.
Kyocera Mita has been active in Italy for a number of years; it has a network of over 500 sales and service centres and it is one of the major suppliers in its reference market, particularly in the segment of copying and multifunction equipment and digital technology, where it is leader with 17% of the market.
