Life's a Beach for Chelsea
The combination of surf, sun and sporting vigour -- and a touch of outdoor theatre -- has turned Bondi's once-controversial beach volleyball stadium into one of the most popular sites at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
On Monday Chelsea CLINTON, daughter of US President, soaked up the sun and the atmosphere.
Although she was accompanied by her usual security staff, Chelsea joined in the fun and games which have quickly become part of the beach volleyball scene.
When she arrived bare-headed, the crowd chanted at her to don a hat to prevent sunburn. As she left the stadium she stopped to chat with locals and pose for photographs.
On Thursday, 21 September, she was back at the volleyball again. So far Chelsea-spotting has become something of an Olympic sport in itself.

She has been a regular at the Olympic Aquatic Centre by night and by day it is obviously the beach volleyball that has captured her attention.
Swimming champion Dawn FRASER has also enjoyed a couple of sessions at Bondi and on Thursday, Annita KEATING, wife of the former Australian Prime Minister Paul KEATING, was also among the crowd accompanied by her daughter. The world's richest man, Microsoft founder Bill GATES, has aso joined the Bondi set.
When Bondi beach was first proposed as the beach volleyball venue, local residents were up in arms. Protestors took to the streets and vowed to disrupt the matches once the Games began.
But the venue has become one of the most popular spots at the Games and a byword for fun and informality.
