Logica to Sponsor Entrant in Challenge Transat 2002 Yacht Race
Challenge Business has announced the IT services company, Logica, as a yacht sponsor for its Challenge Transat 2002 event, which starts this summer, August 25th 2002.
The inaugural event will feature six identical 72ft Global Challenge yachts racing from Southampton to Boston and back. Each yacht will carry one professional skipper, one professional mate and 16 crew, made up of people from all walks of life and nationalities, from the complete novice to the more experienced sailor alike.
Logica was one of the yacht sponsors for Challenge Business' BT Global Challenge 2000/01 and was keen to maintain the positive momentum that had been generated both with its customers and employees. Penny Green, Sponsorship Manager for Logica explains:
'Logica was delighted with the success of its first global sponsorship programme. We are pleased to be working with Challenge Business again and feel this opportunity continues to give us an unique and inspired platform for promotion of our key business messages'.
Logica's sponsorship will entitle the FTSE 100 company, which has offices all over the world, to a number of significant benefits. The company will have its own tailor-made European tour enabling it to take the Logica branded yacht to customers and employees in key locations. A programme of corporate hospitality and business networking events is also planned in the UK and USA.
Sir Chay Blyth, executive chairman of Challenge Business, comments We're delighted that Logica has decided to become a sponsor for the Challenge Transat 2002 adding to the many repeat sponsorships we have experienced over the last 10 years.
'At Challenge Business we have built up vital experience over the years and know what to offer our customers. This way they come back time and time again in the knowledge that the benefits they receive and the packages we tailor for them offer real value for money.'
