Atomic Supports Bid of Salzburg 2014

Olympics - 22 Dec 2006

While San Jose's Silicon Valley is famous for its technological expertise, it is Salzburg that excels with its knowledge in producing state of the art winter sports equipment. Thus, Salzburg is often named "Silicon Valley of Winter sports". One of the best proofs for this term is ATOMIC, one of the world leading ski manufacturers with its headquarters in Altenmarkt in the heart of the snow region of Salzburg's bid for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games 2014. Salzburg 2014 proudly announced yesterday ATOMIC's engagement in the bid being the newest edition to their supporters' list. Amongst other communication and promotion tools, ATOMIC produced an exclusive and limited edition of "Salzburg 2014 skies" - 100 pairs of alpine and 50 pairs of skating skies. These were proudly presented by members of the Salzburg 2014 bid committee.

Dr. Michael Schineis, President ATOMIC Austria GmbH: "Olympic Games in Salzburg - that would be a great chance for the community and the economic future of our country. The passion for sports and the responsibility for the future are the main reasons for ATOMIC to support the bid."

Rudolf Höller, Bid Operations Director Salzburg 2014: "We are very happy that ATOMIC, a local partner but at the same time one of the world's most prestigious winter sports manufacturers, decided to support our bid."
