McCormack Group of Companies Launch Comperio Research
IMG/TWI, founded by Mark McCormack, owner of the world’s leading sports management and television production company, announced the launch of Comperio Research today.
Frank Saez, Comperio’s Research Director, comments 'Strong demand exists in the market for high quality research and Comperio will service the growing needs of such clients. Comperio’s professional approach, coupled with our unrivalled experience in the world of sports, the arts and entertainment, will provide federations, sponsors, rights holders, event organisers, broadcasters and agencies with a first-class service.'
Comperio - Latin for ‘find out with certainty’ - has developed new tools and methodologies to promote new 'best practice' industry standard techniques to quantify value. Saez continues - 'There has been little sophisticated study undertaken in the methodology of sponsorship research and in particular, return on investment analysis. We will continue to invest in analysis systems that significantly improve upon practices such as the 'advertising discount system' whereby a discount is applied to advertising spot costs to determine sponsorship return on investment'. Advertising and sponsorship are two distinct areas of marketing requiring different valuation methods.
'There isn't a single off the peg, ‘one size fits all’ solution that we can apply in all cases, but three systems that are unique to Comperio Research include Comperio Sponsor Audit, Comperio Sponsor Select and Comperio Stadium Select. These diagnostic tools help to provide comprehensive, relevant identification and evaluation data'.
Comperio’s evaluation and media effectiveness tools are supplemented by the Company’s growing international call centre, which conducts telephone and spectator interviews, on-line web surveys, focus group studies, omnibus surveys and workshops. Saez adds 'Combining our modelling techniques and opinion research is one component that makes Comperio unique in its sector'.
Frank Saez concludes; 'Comperio serves a large number of international clients including Tennis Australia, the Wimbledon Championships, PGA European Tour, the Sunshine Tour, Hutchinson 3G, Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, Cisco Systems, FISA, Fulham FC, Wembley Stadium, Globe Arena, Le Mans and the International Skating Union. We will continue to expand our services utilising the McCormack Group of Companies’ network of over 80 international offices.'
