New CEO for International Orienteering Federation
Tom Hollowell has been appointed CEO of the International Orienteering Federation. He succeeds Barbro Rönnberg as Secretary General, when she retires from the post at the end of 2014.
IOF President Brian Porteous said: "We have always recognised that finding a suitable successor for Barbro Rönnberg would be a considerable challenge, and we are very pleased indeed that someone of the calibre and experience of Tom Hollowell will be our new Secretary General and CEO. Tom’s experience as a participant, organiser, team leader and as Director of the O-Ringen and then of the Swedish Orienteering Federation is extensive and we are looking forward especially to the contribution he can make to increasing the visibility of orienteering globally, to improving our commercial performance and ultimately to securing our Olympic ambitions."
Tom Hollowell works currently as Branch Manager at Imtech, a technical installation company based in Karlstad, Sweden. Hollowell has earlier been working as the General Manager of the Swedish Orienteering Federation 2010-2012, and as Director of O-Ringen 2007-2010. He has been an active orienteer since 1976.
