Nike to Provide Apparel for Swatch-FIVB World Tour
Lausanne, Switzerland, February 24 2004 – Nike, the world's leading designer, marketer and distributor of authentic athletic footwear, apparel, equipment and accessories, has partnered with the International Volleyball Federation to be the exclusive competitive apparel supplier for the 2004 Swatch-FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour the FIVB announced on Tuesday.
The FIVB and Nike have agreed on a partnership, which includes Nike providing highly innovative competition apparel for players (tank tops), referees, FIVB delegates, volunteers and staff on the Swatch-FIVB World Tour.
The new line of competition apparel will also be used at the 2004 Athens Olympic Summer Games by some of the world's best Beach Volleyball teams as well as officials.
'This new relationship with Nike is indicative of the tremendous success of Beach Volleyball,' FIVB President Dr. Rubén Acosta said. 'Nike is renowned for its expertise in sportswear manufacturing and this will lift the status
of the Swatch-FIVB World Tour higher than ever'.
'We are excited to partner with the Swatch-FIVB World Tour,' Nike Director of Olympic Sports Marketing Eddie Brown said. 'This allows us to bring our years of apparel innovation to even more beach volleyball athletes. In

The 2004 Swatch - FIVB World Tour will begin it's landmark season March 9-14 in Brazil and will include 27 tournaments (15 men and 12 women) and US$5,480,000 in Prize Money and Bonus Pool.
