Poland to Play Germany at Grand Opening of National Stadium
Hamburg / April 13, 2010 – The Polish Football Federation PZPN has scheduled a top friendly match against the German national team for the inauguration of the new national stadium in Warsaw on September 6, 2011.
The match agreed between the two federations comes fourth in row of friendlies of the Polish A team in 2011 that was initiated by PZPN’s partner SPORTFIVE. Other teams to cross the Polish team’s path will be Finland in May and Serbia and Spain in June. For the German team this will be the first chance to get the look and feel of the new stadium where the UEFA EURO 2012™ will kick off.
“The opening of the new stadium is a big moment and we are looking forward to testing the new premises and our standing in the international friendly against the German national team”, says Franciszek Smuda, Polish Head Coach.
Joachim Hilke, CEO SPORTFIVE International, commented: “It is fantastic to win Germany as the opponent for Poland for the opening of the new stadium. Other FAs were keen to play the Polish team in this EURO stadium too. We are convinced that this match will have a high entertainment value for the fans of both teams”.
SPORTFIVE Sp. z o.o. in Warsaw handles all marketing for the PZPN, including the worldwide TV broadcasting rights for friendlies played by the Polish national teams, as well as all of the Polish federation’s sponsorship packages.
