Soccer - 17 May 2006

Polar Electro (UK) Ltd. has entered into a unique partnership with the League Managers Association (LMA) that will see the world renowned manufacturer of heart rate monitoring equipment share their knowledge and expertise with some of the greatest minds in the game.

Installed as the exclusive supplier of heart rate monitors to the LMA, the new partnership will provide the country’s 92 FA Premier League and Football League managers with access to Polar’s market leading heart rate monitors and support services. Easy to use and implement, managers will be given an insight into how Polar’s innovative products can help them bring sophisticated heart rate based training to their coaching.

With the increasing demands that the modern game places on players, it is essential that managers monitor and correctly understand, what their players’ bodies are telling them. Polar will work closely with the LMA to educate their members on how Polar’s innovative Team System™ products can help them get to the heart of their team’s performance. By simply fitting players with Polar’s unobtrusive Team System transmitter belts, managers can have instant access to information on player’s fitness and training. Providing the precise data that managers need to keep their elite squads in peak condition and fully motivated.

John Barnwell, Chief Executive, League Managers Association is delighted with the new partnership. ‘As the representative voice for all Premiership and Football League managers throughout professional football, it is our duty to provide our members with the latest knowledge and expertise that can help them fulfill their challenging roles. With the evolution of the professional game placing ever greater demands on managers and players, entering into a partnership with a company that is dedicated to improving sporting performance is an extremely positive move.’

Harnessing these opinions, LMA representatives sit on all major committees and panels within the game. Yet, as the Polar partnership shows, the LMA is also committed to providing their members with the knowledge and expertise to enjoy a healthy and happy lifestyle despite being under constant scrutiny.
