Powergen Challenge Cup 2005 – Televised Quarter Finals

BBC Television have confirmed that they will be televising both the Toulouse Olympique v Widnes Vikings and St Helens v Wigan Warriors ties in the Quarter Finals of the 2005 Powergen Challenge Cup on Sunday, June 26.

The kick-off times are: Toulouse Olympique v Widnes Vikings (2.00pm British Summer-time, 3.00pm local time): St Helens v Wigan Warriors (4.00pm)

Carl Hicks, BBC Sport Rugby League Editor, said: “This will be the first time that we’ve televised a Challenge Cup tie from France and demonstrates the BBC’s commitment to both Rugby League and this historic competition.

“We’re very excited about the prospect of covering this game. It will be interesting to see how Rugby League is staged French-style and whether Toulouse can become the first French club ever to reach the Powergen Challenge Cup semi-finals.

“We will also be covering the St Helens v Wigan Warriors tie the same day. This repeat of the 2004 Final brings together two of the greatest names in the sport and it promises to be a great day of Rugby League for our viewers”.
