Progressive Media Group makes significant investment in global sports market intelligence company, Sportcal

Sportcal Global Communications Limited today announced that Progressive Ventures, part of the Progressive Media Group of companies, has taken a significant interest in the business.  Progressive Ventures investment will help accelerate the development of Sportcal’s market intelligence data and analysis services.  
 
Progressive Media is a privately held international group of companies that span media, business information services, technology and communications. Its investment is a crucial part of Sportcal’s expansion and strategic development plans. The venture will allow Sportcal to develop its data analytics in media, sponsorship, events and bidding, creating even more powerful business intelligence tools for the global sports market.  
 
The partnership strengthens both organisations significantly. Sportcal and Progressive Media Group each operate globally, delivering market and business intelligence. Sportcal has been at the forefront of sports market news, data, analysis and insight for over 22 years. Progressive Media Group businesses cover global data, intelligence, content, magazines and digital media across a range of vertical industry sectors. Each organisation has an unwavering ambition to deliver the premier sports market intelligence service worldwide.

Sportcal has welcomed Andy Hunt, Progressive Media Group Managing Partner, to the board. Before joining Progressive Media Group, Hunt was the CEO of the British Olympic Association (BOA) and Chef de Mission for Team GB at the London 2012 Games. He was also a non-executive Director of the London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games.
