Representatives of Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain visit KOC

Multi-sport games - 22 Apr 2009

(Kaohsiung) The Protocol Office of the Kaohsiung Organizing Committee gathered with Ms. Tracy Lee and Mr. Tony Ambrosino, representatives of the Australian Commerce and Industry Office, Mr. Nigel Ingram, from the New Zealand Commerce and Industry Office, and Mr. Nick Jagger, representative of the British Trade & Cultural Office.

Before the guests raised specific questions and issues, Deputy Director Mr. Victor Wang gave an introduction on The 8th World Games held in Kaohsiung.
Most important topics on the agenda were accreditation of counseling staff, security issues, doping control and emergency preparations.

After the meeting at the KOC office, the delegation visited the new Main Stadium in the north of Kaohsiung City, where they could confirm themselves that the organization for TWG2009 is on a good way and that Kaohsiung is ready to welcome the world.

Throughout the past six months, KOC put special focus on improving mutual cooperation with Representative Offices based in Taiwan, as well as with National Olympic Committees.

Besides the German, French and Russian NOCs, who will set up their own houses and offices in Kaohsiung during TWG, it is particularly the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), which assists KOC a lot in terms of media communication and security questions, and the delegation of the Youth Olympics 2012 in Innsbruck (Austria) which will be one of the countries presenting themselves at The World Games Plaza.

Also trade and commerce offices from many other countries, such as the German Institute in Taiwan, show increasing interest in being present in Kaohsiung during TWG2009.
