Rugby Women and Rugby Men Get Together in Denmark
Female grace and masculine muscles are the new combination when the national teams, men and women, meet in the City of Odense, Denmark, to compete concurrently in their respective European Sevens Rugby Championship.
On 22 and 23 May, some of Europe’s best national sevens rugby teams are competing to win the European Sevens Rugby Championships. The tournament counts both female and male players and thus, Odense Athletics Stadium, is offering the audience almost 24 exciting hours of rugby on a top professional level for Whitsun.
The onward march of rugby women
By attending the championships, the spectators can see for themselves how rapidly women’s rugby is developing. For quite some years, it has been one of the world’s most rapidly developing team sports and the inclusion in the Olympic Games programme is likely to further boost this onward march.
Danish ambitions
The Danish rugby community has great expectations to the women’s national team. First and foremost to the coming B-European Championship in Odense, where Denmark is seeded number 4 and the ambition is to reach the semi-final.
Join the rugby party
In rugby sevens, a match lasts 2 x 7 minutes and both tournaments (women and men), are run on the same venue. Usually, the spectators are having a party, loudly expressing their support both to their own team, but often also to other good teams in the tournament. Especially and traditionally, great support is given to the outsider teams.
All in all, sevens rugby tournaments are characterised by an extremely positive atmosphere on the grandstands across group affiliation etc., which matches Sports Events Made in Denmark.
