Second French Radio Deal for 2006 FIFA World Cup
Zug, Switzerland, 12 November 2004 - Infront Sports & Media has announced a second, nonexclusive agreement for the radio broadcasting rights of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ with French national radio broadcaster Europe News S.N.C.
The agreement is for the territory of France and includes both live and delayed rights for the Opening, Semi-final and Final matches, all matches of the French national team and an additional 25 matches to be selected by Europe News. This means that the broadcaster will be covering a minimum of 29 out of the 64 matches, plus all those involving France.
This is the second radio deal for France announced this year – the first was with RMC – emphasising the growing importance of radio as a medium for covering the FIFA World Cup™.
Europe News was an official radio broadcaster for the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup that took place in France and is highly committed to football.
