Böblingen / Zurich, 2. December 2004: A young dynamic sport and a youthful car with the shot of refreshing lifestyle. A trendy sport and a classy brand name find each other. The Beach Volleyball European Championship Tour and the smart brand tie the knot- all this sounds like a promising relationship.
Smart will be supporting the highest ranking Beach Volleyball series in Europe in the coming years: 'It is fantastic to be able to develop the Tour together with such a great partner', says Christian Scholbrock, Managing Director of the Swiss agency Global Sports Marketing (GSM) which organises the European Championship Tour for the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV). In addition to tournaments in Roseto degli Abruzzi (Italy) and Valencia (Spain) the season 2004 was highlighted by the European Championship Final in Timmendorfer Strand (Germany).
The planning for the European Championship Tour 2005 is already in full swing. Five to seven Tour dates with tournaments in the main European markets are in the finalisation phase. 'The far-reaching support by smart will provide us with an extra boost in the continued promotion of the Tour - the coming weeks and months will see a lot of positive news', Christian Scholbrock predicts.
