South African and French NOCs Second Visit to Kaohsiung Organizing Committee

Multi-sport games - 20 Apr 2009

(Kaohsiung) On Wednesday, April 15, KOC welcomed the South African Sports Confederation & Olympic Committee's CEO Mr. Tubby Reddy and his 2nd Vice President Mr. Les Williams. Along with Mr. Reddy and Mr. Williams there was also Mr. Vincent Lin, Advisor of Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee and President of South Africa Dragon Boat Association (SADBA).

The day after, on April 16, Vice-Director Mr. Andre-Pierre Goubert, from the French National Olympic Committee, was meeting with KOC officials from the Protocol Office. This is the second visit for both NOCs to the organizing committee as further and more detailed agenda were explored from their first visit. Accreditation, medical services and transportation remained the top interests for both committees. The South African representative showed his particular interest in Anti-Doping procedures and sponsorship issues, whereas Mr. Goubert from French NOC asked about the capacity for VIP tickets and purchase of merchandising products.

Both French and South African will have a large delegation at The World Games 2009, as 114 French and 46 South African athletes qualified in 16 and 9 different sports.
