Spanish Football Association Fined By Fifa
Moreover, FIFA has issued a warning that the Spanish football association or its relevant representative team may be forced to play behind closed doors or face exclusion from FIFA competitions if these offences are repeated.
This decision was reached by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, chaired by Marcel Mathier (Switzerland), at a meeting in Zurich on 20 December 2004.
The committee found the Spanish FA guilty of a breach of article 73 paragraph 1e of the FIFA Disciplinary Code and liable for the behaviour of its supporters in line with article 72 paragraph 2 of the code.
The CHF 100,000 fine must be paid within 30 days of notification of the decision. The costs of the proceedings, totalling CHF 1,000, shall also be borne by the Spanish FA.
