4 Days To Go Until FINA 2007 World Championships Opens

Melbourne, 13 March 2007 – Great Big Events is mid-production for the FINA 2007 World Championships in Melbourne. The event will see 2000 Athletes from as many as 175 countries competing at the Championships, reaching an estimated global TV audience of one billion viewers.

World Sport Presentation leaders, Great Big Events, under the creative direction of Managing and Creative Director, Greg Bowman, has been contracted to produce the Sport Presentation of the Championships. This means devising unique presentation aspects for each of the Championships’ disciplines, including Swimming, Water Polo, Synchronised Swimming, Open Water Swimming and Diving. The company is also creating and producing the Opening Ceremony of the Championships and will also produce the Manchester FINA World Swimming Championships in 2008.

“It’s an exciting time for aquatics,” said Greg Bowman, “We have just wrapped up the Sport Presentation program for the Doha Asian Games, and we saw the new exciting stars rising up the ranks. We want to create an atmosphere that is exciting for audiences and conducive to achieving the best performances from each Athlete at the Championships and then provide a befitting recognition of their outstanding achievements.”

The FINA 2007 World Championships will be held from Saturday 17th March until Sunday 1st April, 2007.
