Ticket Sales Soar for Eurohockey Nations Championships 2007
Demand is proving to be very high for tickets to the EuroHockey Nations Championships 2007, which run from the 18th – 26th August at Belle Vue in Manchester. Since tickets first went on sale last Friday nearly two thousand tickets have already been snapped up by eager fans with one and a half thousand being sold during the first weekend.
The EuroHockey Nations Championships 2007 will be the biggest standalone hockey event in England since the World Cup in 1986. That time around England came away with a silver medal, narrowly losing out to Australia in the final which was hosted on home soil in Willesden, London. Barry Snellgrove, Marketing and Communications Director for England Hockey, commented, “It is very encouraging to see such an interest from the public at an early stage like this. We hope that this trend continues and a packed stadium will certainly contribute to a vibrant atmosphere at the Championships.”
The England women’s and men’s teams will open their 2007 EuroHockey Nations Championships campaigns against Ireland and Belgium respectively. The joint tournament, which will take place at Belle Vue in Manchester, the legacy facility from the 2002 Commonwealth Games, will begin on 18th August 2007. The top three teams in each gender will win direct qualification for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
Tickets can be bought through the tournament website – http://www.eurohockeymanchester2007.com/ - priced from just £5.
